Dear Friend,
A few weeks ago, I suggested to one of my business partners that we invite their customers to participate in a conference call.
There was important news in their industry, and I believed their customers would pay to find out about it.
Turns out, I was right!
My business partner sent an e-mail inviting their customers to dial into the conference call to hear me explain the news to them.
To listen, we charged them $59 per person.
Since we sent the invitations via e-mail to our existing customer lists, our marketing cost was zero: no printing, no postage, and zero advertising expense.
Of those prospects who received our e-mail inviting them to attend the teleseminar, 378 signed up for the conference, paying online with their credit cards.
At $59 per attendee, that's a gross revenue of $22,302 - not bad for doing little more than hitting a button on your PC and distributing a text e-mail to your list.
Of course, that's gross revenues. There are some expenses, such as paying a phone service bureau to manage the "bridge line" that allows hundreds of people to listen all at once.
The service bureau also records the call, which we promised to send on CD to the participants as a free bonus, increasing our costs.
This reduced our net revenue for the teleconference to $19,642 ... still not bad for such little time and effort.
Anyway, the call was scheduled for a Tuesday from 2pm to 3pm - just one hour.
At around 1:55pm, I dialed into the call.
We began at 2pm, and ended promptly at 3pm.
At 3:01 pm, I hung up the phone - and immediately starting typing whatever writing project I had been working on before we started.
Total investment of my time: 66 minutes. Total marketing investment: zero dollars.
A few weeks later, in my mail, I found an envelope from my business partner.
It contained my 50% split of the net profit from our teleconference call.
The check was for $9,821 ... and as I held it in my hands, I realized this was probably the most money I have ever gotten for an hour's worth of my labor.
And what easy labor it was: nothing but chatting on the phone for an hour to a group of people.
No getting on a plane to give a speech ... no difficult consulting assignment trying to figure out a solution to a client's vexing problem.
Just talking to people about a subject I knew well, as easy as chatting to your best friend or mother over the phone about a favorite topic.
I realized then I had stumbled on a gold mine ... an incredibly easy way to make a LOT of money with minimal time and effort.
Just how much money can you make giving teleseminars -- either your own or for other marketers?
My "take home pay" for a 60 to 90-minute teleseminar typically ranges from hundreds of dollars to thousands -- depending on the subject, audience, and arrangement.
The LEAST I ever make for a call is $500 an hour. But on many calls, I've earned $4,000 to $8,000 or more for an easy hour's work.
How much effort is involved?
Very, very little.
Here's what you have to do to make $1,000 an hour or more holding teleseminars:
-
Come up with a topic an audience would be interested in hearing and willing to pay anywhere from $29 to $179 for.
-
E-mail an invitation to people on your list and other lists who you believe are interested in that topic - interested enough that they would give an hour or so of their time and a modest amount of money to learn more about it from you.
-
Arrange with any of a number of teleconference companies (I'll share their names and contact information with you) who can handle the technical aspects of audio conferencing in exchange for a modest fee you pay them.
-
At the agreed upon time and date, give a direct, straightforward talk about your topic over the phone.
-
Answer a few questions from the audience.
-
Take the money, deposit it in your bank account, and make yourself thousands of dollars richer for about an hour's work.
Sounds simple?
Well, mostly it is. But there are a few things you need to know - and a few tricks of the trade that can help ensure your event makes you a lot of money.
Grab your share of the huge profits others
are already making in teleseminars today.
My collaborator Kim Stacey and I produced an e-book, Teleseminar Profits, designed to help you quickly and easily get into the highly lucrative teleseminar business.
What many people don't realize is that you don't have to be a big company with a staff and a lot of money to do this.
Almost all of the marketing is done online, so the advertising costs are virtually zero.
There's no hotel room to rent. No need to supply your attendees with coffee, sodas, and snacks ...
... which if you've ever promoted live seminars, you know can add up to a small fortune in no time, given the inflated rates hotel catering departments charge seminar companies who rent their rooms.
There's no travel, food, and lodging for either you or the attendees. Everyone - the sponsor, the speakers, the students - dials in from their own phone, at their own expense.
In fact, you often don't even have to pay the speaker!
If YOU are the expert giving the teleseminar, there's no outside speaker fee.
But if you interview experts, they'll often do the program at no charge in exchange for the promotion and publicity the event gives them and their products.
Teleseminars are an ideal business or profit center for writers ... authors ... consultants ... subject matter experts ... service firms ... publishers ... information marketers ... marketers ... and anyone who has specialized knowledge they want to share with others - and get paid to do so!
And in her best-selling e-book Teleseminar Profits, Kim Stacey reveals everything you need to know to grab your share of the cash your fellow entrepreneurs are raking in every week in teleseminars today.
